  • VIDEO: Fire crews protect eagle’s nest during Shuswap Road wildfire

BC fire crews were hard at work protecting the public and wildlife from the Shuswap Road wildfire.

Dave Someton, a Kamloops resident, took to Facebook to record the rescue of an eagle’s nest.

According to his post, over 30 responders were working on suppressing the engulfed tree that held the nest.

Team members were reportedly bringing cages and blankets for the birds in case the fire took over.

“The birds have an amazing group of heroes in their corner,” said Someton in a post.

The fire was eventually put out and the birds were reported to be safe and sound!
