(UPDATE: Aug. 6 @ 12:10 pm) – Mounties in Comox Valley say the missing 25-year-old hiker has been found.

The search is ongoing for 39-year-old Amanda Murphy, who was last seen over the long weekend before departing on a camping trip.
(Original story: Aug. 6 @ 9:30 am) – It’s a similar story for two people who have been reported missing separately on Vancouver Island.
Amanda Murphy was last seen on Aug. 1 before going camping. The hiker was last seen on Aug. 3 in Strathcona Provincial Park.

Murphy was reported missing on Aug. 5. Police say she was planning to camp in the area of Winter Harbour and San Josef Bay. The 39-year-old woman is described as 5’5” and 150 lbs with brown hair and green eyes.
According to the RCMP, the 25-year-old man went missing while hiking at Mount Albert Edward. Comox Valley Search and Rescue says he became separated from his group.
Police and family members of both missing persons are concerned for their health and well-being. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers.
