UPDATE: Hwy 1 reopens near Golden after earlier vehicle incident

(UPDATE: 1 pm) – Hwy 1 has reopened west of Golden after an earlier vehicle incident.

Expect some delays and drive with caution in the area.

(Original Story: 10 am) – Travellers looking to use Hwy 1 should be aware of a closure near Golden.

According to Drive BC, the road is closed in both directions 14 kilometres east of the Glacier National Park East Boundary at the Redgrave rest area. The closure comes due to an earlier vehicle incident.

At this point, an assessment is in progress but no detours are available.
