Thompson Rivers University's women's soccer team just got stronger thanks to some local talent. 

The team announced this morning that they had signed a South Kamloops Secondary School Titan. Centre-back Tatiana Mueller is set to join the program on August 1st for the 2020-21 season. 

Mueller is currently playing soccer for the Thompson Okanagan Football Club. She is set to graduate from SKSS this coming June and plans to take a Bachelor of Arts when she reaches university.

“Growing up here, I have spent a lot of time around Thompson Rivers University,“ said Mueller. “The campus is really nice. It is a sustainable university which is very important to me. On the soccer side of things, it is a very exciting time to be a part of the program. It was important to me to go to a school where I could have a positive impact in many ways.”

Mueller hopes to earn the starting job as a Pack defender. The 5'7" woman knows it will be a challenge and she won't just be handed the reigns. 

“Being part of the rebuilding process and jumping into a scenario where I can immediately help is something that was very important to me in making my decision on where I wanted to go. I am not expecting to be given it. The program is taking in a lot of new players. I think that every position will be up for grabs as they build a new idea of what TRU soccer will look like.“

Mueller becomes the sixth commitment for the Pack already this year.
