  • The Rock flies 10-year-old hero to Vancouver movie set

The Rock just made a young boy's dream by inviting him to his movie set and calling him a hero.

Earlier this week, Jacob O'Connor, 10, from Rosedale, Michigan was hailed a hero after he saved his little brother, Dylan's life.

Jacob found his brother Dylan face down in his family's backyard pool and pulled him out.

When he saw that his little brother wasn't breathing, he remembered Dwayne Johnson's character from his favourite movie, San Andreas and started performing chest compressions, which resulted in saving his brother's life.

Johnson found out about the heroic act and responded on social media, giving Jacob high praise and a plane ticket to Vancouver to hang out with The Rock on the set of his latest movie, Skyscraper.

Johnson is flying Jacob's whole family out to Vancouver and promised him a "Willy Wonka" style spread of candy – all for free.

Jacob's mom has been taking all the attention from Johnson and other media outlets in stride.

"Another tweet to my son today, from the MAN," she wrote. "Thank you so much for taking this time and recognizing Jacob's heroism!"

She added that all of the national media attention the family has been receiving has been "an absolute blessing for my oldest son, Jacob."

Jacob's little brother Dylan was taken to hospital and is recovering from the near drowning incident.

Skyscraper, is being filmed in Vancouver and wraps up shooting in November.

Starring Johnson and Neve Campbell, the film is expected to be released sometime in 2018.

According to IMBD, the film is described as a hostage-action-thriller set in China.
