Sunday could be a messy one in Kelowna with a mix of snow and rain forecast. 

Light snowfall is expected in the morning while temperatures remain below zero, but that precipitation will turn to rain by the afternoon.

The daytime high is expected to reach 5C followed by an overnight low of zero. 

"The weather system will exit Monday morning, and sunny breaks will return by Monday afternoon," says Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist.

"But northwesterly flow aloft will bring in slightly cooler air on Monday."
