KelownaNow is excited to feature some of our favorite Instagram profiles from the area!
Born and raised in the Okanagan, I’ve grown up having a passion for our fresh local produce. However, it wasn’t until recently that I became aware of how important that truly is. After working as an early childhood educator for over a decade, I felt the need to explore nutrition and the benefits that it can offer to children and families. I’m currently half way through the holistic nutrition course at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Once complete I plan on working closely with families and young children to ensure they’re living the best quality of life that they can.
Why do you use Instagram?
I use Instagram as a platform to share my experiences and knowledge with the world. I started up Flaunt Nutrition as a way to document the stuff I was learning and to hopefully give insight into the importance of nutrition at all stages of life.
What will people see on your feed?
Food, lots of food.. I post everything from recipes to health tips and once in a while a bit of fitness information as well.
Does your page have a specific style?
I’d say that my style is minimalistic and simple. Easy meals for real people – also, plant based without being pushy about it.
Favourite Instagram accounts to follow?
My favourite accounts to follow are @erinireland (favourite foodie), @jillianharris (because she’s hilarious), @minimalistbaker (because she has bazillions of amazing, easy recipes all 10 ingredients or less).
Why do you follow KelownaNow?
KelownaNow is a fantastic source for local news and events.. and they post some pretty awesome photos.
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
Light, where ever there is natural light!! My shoots are mostly done in my kitchen and yes, I always eat whatever I’m making!
Biggest Instagram moment?
Having the opportunity to create visual content for local businesses and to support local businesses is really cool.. I wouldn’t say I’ve had a BIGGEST Instagram moment, although I feel every post is a BIG moment if it helps someone plan for a meal, nourish their body or make them smile.
