The "Smoky Skies Bulletin" for the Okanagan, Shuswap and North and South Thompson will remain in effect for Thursday.

The widespread smoke throughout Southern B.C. including Kelowna continued into Thursday morning, but the lingering smoke is expected to dissipate throughout the day.

According to Environment Canada, the Air Quality Index sits at a three for Thursday, with a predicted temperature high of 32 degrees Celsius.

Air quality advisories remain in effect for most of the southern part of the province as more than a dozen fires continue to rage in the B.C. Interior.

The advisory of poor air quality and reduced visibility covers an area stretching from the Cariboo to the Alberta-B.C. border and all the way to eastern Vancouver Island.

People with health conditions, along with infants and the elderly, are encouraged to stay in air-conditioned environments and if others find their breathing becomes laboured they're advised to slow down their activity.
