  • Simple ways to promote good health and wellness in the Okanagan

Finding time to unwind during a busy work week can be harder than we wish it to be. But taking a few moments to decompress after a long day can significantly improve our wellbeing and keep us motivated for the long days to come.

So how do you find time to pursue good health and in turn pursue the state of your wellbeing?

This article is dedicated to you and your pursuit of good health. It's a guide for anyone who is looking to make a few small steps in the right direction.

    Walk barefoot

Speaking of taking steps, who doesn't love spending time outdoors? There is something about breathing in the fresh air that just grounds us and promotes good feelings.

Whether it is walking on green grass, a sandy beach or all of the above, doing it barefoot has serious health benefits and is a simple way to spend just a few moments dedicated to your wellbeing.

According to the practice of reflexology the bottoms of our feet are connected through pressure points to different organs in our bodies.

Just like a foot massage, walking barefoot encourages pain relief and can improve overall organ health.

So the next time you're feeling just a bit overwhelmed or you are looking for a few quiet moments to yourself, head outside, have a few deep breaths and walk barefoot.

    Drink lemon water

Many of us reach for a cup of coffee when we are on our way out the door or need a mid-day pick-me-up but did you know that drinking lemon water at that start of your day can boost your immune system and boost your energy?

Lemon juice is a great source of vitamin C and promotes immune system health plus with the added antibacterial properties it can help you fight infections.

Drinking a glass a warm lemon water first thing in the morning can actively maintain your immune system health plus aid in your daily digestion.

    .

And if your someone who doesn’t favour drinking water to stay hydrated, adding a few lemon wedges to a water bottle will help your water taste better. For similar results simply google infused water recipes and research the benefits of the variety of recipe options.

    Go outside
