  • Several arrests after bait property deployed in Prince George

    Prince George Mounties have released details about another successful bait property operation. 

    They deployed the bait property over two days in downtown Prince George and arrested several people who took it. 

    It ran between Feb. 27 and 28. 

    On Feb. 27: 

    • Two men – 38 and 39 – were arrested at about 11 pm and given orders to appear in court on June 3

    • A woman, 33, and a man, 35, were arrested at about midnight and ordered to appear in court on June 3 

    On Feb. 28: 

    • A man – Aaron Joseph Glover, 34 – was arrested after attempting to steal the property at about 9 pm before being charged with theft and failure to comply with a probation order

    • A 41-year-old man was arrested after a short foot chase at about 11 pm when he stole the item. He will appear in court on June 3

    "Our bait programs are an effective use of our resources and produce positive results every time they are deployed in our community," said S/Sgt Kent MacNeill, acting operations officer for Prince George RCMP.  

    "We want thieves to think twice before they make a decision to take anything that does not belong to them."

    The detachment added that it will continue to use the bait property program.
