  • Rosé tasting course being hosted by renowned wine maker at Okanagan College

Okanagan College's Penticton campus will soon host an exciting tasting session with a renowned winemaker and educator.

Penelope Roche, co-owner and proprietor of Roche Wines, will host Rosé Styles: BC & Around the World on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The educational tasting session will cover seven or eight different bottles of rosé and allow attendees to compare styles and learn about the different winemaking processes.

“This is a chance to explore how incredibly different one Rosé can be from the next. We might contrast an Okanagan Rosé with a French Rosé for example, and how climate and many other factors produce such profound differences in the taste of the wines,” said Roche.

Roche, who also teaches viticulture at Okanagan College, is committed to an all-natural approach in their vineyards on the southern edge of the Naramata Bench.

“We have always worked with small lots, in direct contact with the vineyard, and we are acutely aware of the details that make the difference between good and exceptional wine,” explained Roche.

The tasting session costs $78.75 per person and seating is limited.

Those interested in securing a seat can register online at okanagan.bc.ca/rosestyles.
