(Update: Aug. 15. 2023 @ 6:30 am): Prior Lake and Mackenzie Creek Trail have been reopened after a body was recovered from the water on Monday afternoon.
An incident on Saturday has resulted in the closure of Prior Lake.
The lake, in Thetis Lake Regional Park, has been closed since Saturday due to an unconfirmed incident.

The West Shore RCMP said that due to the nature of the investigation, the nearby Mackenzie Creek Trail had to be closed as well to allow for “space and privacy.”
“There is no ongoing risk to public safety at this time, however the investigation is still ongoing,” police said.
CRD Regional Park Staff have put up barricades and closure signs in the area where applicable.
“We will provide more updates when they become available, however for now we are asking the public to avoid Prior Lake and Mackenzie Creek Trail until further notice,” said police.
