  • Police respond to call involving a rogue possum

Police in Metro Vancouver responded to a rather unique call for help last week.

Officers were called to a home in Ladner, B.C. after a woman reported finding an aggravated critter in her shower.

Upon arrival, an officer found a hissing possum in the woman’s shower that was reportedly foaming at the mouth.

"Police get all types of calls for help, but this was unusual even by our standards," read the tweet from Delta Police.

"However when it’s nearly midnight, there aren’t many options to remove a possum from your shower. The possum was highly displeased, but we got it safely out, and back to the wild."

How exactly does a possum end up in a shower in the middle of the night?

Delta Police are remaining tight-lipped on that one, but did mention some "extenuating circumstances" led to the unusual situation.
