A Kelowna woman got quite the treat this weekend when a bobcat came to visit her home. 

Candace Creighton was inside her home in the Poplar Point area when she noticed the cat peering into her home. She explained that the animal did not seem to be afraid of humans. 

"I am blessed to live in the Poplar Point neighbourhood and daily watch deer wandering through my yard," said Creighton. "Yesterday, I was doing paperwork in my home office when a deer spooked. Happy for the distraction, I got up to see what spooked the deer, and there it was, sitting under the junipers!"

"I watched it for about 30 mins, it didn’t seem to bother with my dog barking or with my movements, or the deer; just groomed and then got up for a stretch." 

Creighton shared the photos with her friends and family who were delighted to see the bobcat. She is urging residents in the area to be cautious with their pets with the predator in the area. 

"I was able to watch him methodically look in all the windows- they’re close to the ground. I presume he’s hunting my longhaired daschund Cleopatra. Since the cat has wandered away but I am worried about the other pets in the area, and the people that walk Paul's Tomb."

"Wild cat sightings are not infrequent in the area,  but I would have expected the cat to be more scared of noises and humans— this one doesn’t seem worried at all!"
