Pacific FC has regained their form after notching their second straight road victory yesterday against the Halifax Wanderers.

This was the the first time in which PFC squared off against Halifax since the Wanderers brought in Canadian International defender, Doneil Henry. 

With the win, PFC remained two points clear of Cavalry FC for first place in the Canadian Premier League (CPL) as the Calgary-side also picked up a crucial 3-0 victory over Forge FC over the weekend.

PFC went with a 4-2-3-1 formation against Halifax while the Wanderers countered with a classic 4-4-2 set up.

The first three entries into the game sheet saw a trio of cautions as Cale Loughrey and Massimo Ferrin entered the book for Halifax while Josh Heard was cautioned for PFC.

It wasn't until stoppage time of the first half where the first scoring play came to fruition as the road-side made their presence known with a massive goal from Thomas Meilleur-Giguere as the defender notched his second goal of the season.

That seemed to open the floodgates in the contest as the next goal came just nine minutes later.

Josh Heard finished off a brilliant cross from Manny Aparicio as he grabbed his second goal in as many matches.

Both sides would utilize their substitutions through the rest of the second-half as they continued to bring on fresh sets of legs.

Halifax was able cut the Tridents lead in half with a late goal in the second-half from Daniel Nimick.

That was as close as the Wanderers were able to get as PFC was able to hang on for the 2-1 victory.

The Tridents were boosted to victory by some impressive individual performances which were noted from around the CPL.

Manuel Aparicio, Amer Didic, Josh Heard and Sean Young were honoured with CPL Team of the Week recognition.

Pacific FC will return to Starlight Stadium this Sunday, Aug. 13 at 1:30pm as they play host to Atletico Ottawa.
