After 10 years of owning and operating his own concrete company, Tyler Bartley is swapping his mixer for a roaster and officially opening the cafe of his dreams in Lake Country. 

Having had the opportunity to travel for his work, Bartley discovered his passion for all things coffee while sipping his way through different countries one cup at a time.

“When I was traveling, I had the chance to try coffees in other countries and they always tasted so much better,” said Bartley. 

Upon his return, he invested in a small-batch roaster and began creating his own concoctions as a hobby.

“I started giving the guys at work, friends and family my coffee. Eventually, I got really good at it and decided it was time to make a change.”

After noticing a void in Lake Country’s fresh roasted and third-wave coffee production sector, Bartley got to work on researching the logistics of opening his own coffee company and started Lifestyles Coffee nearly two years ago. 

Originally the company began as an e-commerce endeavor, but after seeing his product grow in popularity, Bartley decided to open a physical store that doubles as a cafe and roastery.

“It is definitely a great feeling to know that all the hard work we have put in to get it to this stage is now paying off,” he said.

Lifestyles Coffee specializes in creating a far from average cup of joe, with beans free of mycotoxins sourced from sustainable farms from across the world.

In addition to producing Bartley’s own personal takes on classic blends, Lifestyles offers up a unique range of specialty blends that have been infused with natural nootropics to enhance the cognitive abilities of drinkers. 

The three blend specialty series is currently awaiting the approval of Health Canada and will become available in early 2020.

The cafe, located at #4-10058 off of Hwy 97 in Lake Country, will host it’s grand opening celebration this Saturday.

Attendees can look forward to delicious drinks and learning more about Lifestyles’ plans for the future which will potentially see the company breaking into the cannabis-infused coffee sector. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for details!
