Kamloops’ Johnny Ludvig named WHL Player of the Week

Everything is coming up Johnny Ludvig when it comes to hockey!

The WHL announced its On the Run Player of the Week on Monday and the Kamloops product took home the honour.

Between Feb. 2nd and Feb. 9th, Ludvig competed in three games for the Portland Winterhawks. The rock-solid defenceman picked up two goals and seven assists while his leading his team to a 2-0-1 record.

Ludvig's top game came during a 7-6 overtime loss against the Spokane Chiefs where he registered a goal and three apples. The 19-year-old is also having a career year, scoring 16 goals and putting up 52 points in 51 games.

Up next, Ludvig and the Winterhawks host Spokane this Friday. Puck drop in the Moda Centre is at 7 pm.
