The team at KelownaNow.com is passionate about this community and the people that make it amazing. We want to show our friends, neighbours, family and colleagues that we notice them and the fabulous things that they do.

    What is your name?
    Tascheleia Marangoni

What do you always find yourself saying?
You have to do the work!

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
I think it would be my aunty Marilyn. She is a Genealogist and Historian who travels the world extensively. I find her passion and search for knowledge very inspiring!

If you were to receive any existing public award, what award would you like to win?
Maybe something in the vain of the arts!

If you could spend a day with any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
    Leonardo Da Vinci!

    Who inspires you?
My children first and foremost! Secondly – humanity inspires me – for all that they have accomplished, and all that they have gotten wrong – I learn from that.

What are three things on your bucket list?
To live in Italy for a time and to travel extensively.

If you had an enormous yacht, what would you name it?
    The Isabella Ronan AnaSofya

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
There is no day in the future I need to see in its entirety. I trust my intuition and connection with the Universe to provide me with the information I need.

    What are you passionate about?
Everything! In particular, every form of the arts, classical and cultural dance, painting, fine arts, visual arts, calligraphy, culture – in particular my heritage – Italian, Scottish, astronomy and astrophysics, genealogy.

What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
There are too many to mention, but if I had to choose a few it would be the days that each of my children were born and the day I moved to Kelowna.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Being awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal
Founding PMDA: Perinatal Mood Disorder Awareness Ltd.
    Being a mom!

    What is your mission?
To provide fun and educational classes in cultural dance and the arts. To support the arts community by providing affordable rental space for artists of all genres. And to carry only local art from Kelowna and the valley in our gallery at a reasonable commis.

If you could achieve one thing within your field, what would it be?
To see a united and well supported arts community, providing the arts in turn to Kelowna and the valley.

Where do you want your business/organization to be in five years?
Providing exciting, jam-packed classes in dance and art, full house events, participation in all the festivals, integral part of the community!

Who do you consider to be a forerunner within your field?
I am probably one of the few people in Kelowna with such extensive and diverse training in cultural dance.

What three qualities do you feel that your business/organization exemplifies?
    Professionalism and kindness
Passion for all forms of the arts and a desire to share that with everyone
A strong desire to support the arts community!

What would you like to say to your employees/volunteers?
To everyone who has helped along the way and will continue to do so – a heartfelt thank you!

How does your business/organization impact the community?
By creating a buzz in the arts community, inspiring people, getting them involved!

If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
Investors with expertise in the field of the arts would be a dream come true. But also Investors with expertise in the field of mental health would be equally wonderful! Either way, I would speak with them passionately about the importance of the arts, and the importance of mental health. Both crucially important things for humanity and Canadians. Neither receives enough funding or attention. Although I know there are many who try.

If I could change one thing about Kelowna, it would be:
To see it continue to grow and develop into a mature city.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
    So many things:
    -the mild climate
    -the beautiful scenery
    -the vineyards and orchards
    -the wineries
    -the beaches
    -the slower paced lifestyle
    -the quaintness
-the desire to bigger and better than it is and growth in that direction!

Some general comments I would like to share are:
I am also the founding Executive Director for a non-profit organization devoted to helping moms and families affected by perinatal mood disorders and postpartum depression across Canada. PMDA: Perinatal Mood Disorder Awareness Ltd. has been in operation since December of 2010, and has worked very hard to provide needed resources, education, and awareness where there has been little or none. Education and awareness about this widely misunderstood illness can and does save lives.
