(UPDATE: @ 6 pm) – The woman leading the search effort for Lars the Bulldog is reporting that the seven-year-old dog has been returned. 

Kourtnei Miller originally posted that Lars has been stolen from a homeless man on Tuesday and was offering a reward for the dog's safe return.

(Original Story: @ 3 pm) – A post shared on Facebook is alerting Okanagan residents of a stolen dog. 

Lars the bulldog was reportedly stolen from the Econo Lodge area in Vernon on Tuesday, Dec. 23.

However, the post has been updated to say there was a possible sighting of Lars at Kelowna’s Gospel Mission.

According to the post, the seven-year-old male bulldog is owned by a homeless man named Eric who is well known in Vernon’s street community. 

“Whoever took Lars may think they are doing him a favour because they are going through a rough patch and out on the streets but this is not the case. Lars is very well taken care of! I meet with them twice every day to give Lars his meds, I bath him weekly and on the cold days Eric lets Lars stay with me to keep warm,” said Kourtnei Miller in a post on the Vernon Rant and Rave Facebook page.

“Lars is a 7 year old male, intact bulldog. He cannot walk long distances because of his injured leg and needs his meds twice a day. Eric adores Lars and does everything he can to take care of him.”

The reward for bull dog’s return was originally set to $500, but has since been upped to $700.
