After 48 hours of searching, Squamish RCMP were finally able to identify the three victims of the Shannon Falls tragedy early last week.

RCMP announced that the names of the victims would not be released, however, word quickly spread that the victims were Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh and Megan Scraper, all members of the adventure group High on Life.

The group began in 2011, when Gamble and his three childhood friends began posting weekly videos under the High on Life brand name.

According to the group, the videos aimed to inspire and teach viewers how to get out and explore the world.

High on life proved very popular, racking up half a million YouTube subscribers and over a million Instagram followers.

The remaining members of High On Life have now spoken publicly about the deaths in a tearful video titled “To our friends and family”.

“On July 3rd, 2018 we lost 3 very dear friends of ours, Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh, and Megan Scraper. There are truly no words that can be said to ease the pain and the devastation that we are all going through right now,” said Parker Heuser in a newly released video on the High On Life YouTube channel.

“They were three of the warmest, kindest, most driven and outgoing people you could ever meet, and the world has lost a great deal of light from the passing of our friends… As tragic as their loss is, their message lives on through us all, and it is now our responsibility to keep the message going.”

Early reports from the tragic accident indicate that Gamble, Lyakh and Scraper  were with a group of friends in a top pool at Shannon Falls Park in Squamish, B.C. when one Scraper fell into a lower pool.

Gamble and Lyakh followed in a rescue attempt before all three were swept away by rushing waters.

Shannon Falls has since reopened, with a strong warning from authorities for visitors to respect the dangers of the landscape.
