Mayors from various cities in Canada stepped up to the plate on Thursday suggesting their city for Amazon's second headquarters in North America (HQ2).

While their fight is admirable, the likelihood of certain cities making the cut is slim.

Here's a list of the Canadian mayors wanting their cities wanting HQ2:

Vancouver mayor, Gregor Robertson hopes Amazon will consider his city. However, location-wise it is quite close to the Seattle Amazon headquarters.

Regardless, Mayor Robertson has received support from Vancouver Economic, an organization that works to position Vancouver as a global innovative tech and business hub.

On Wednesday, Vancouver Economic tweeted its dedication towards landing HQ2 in its city. 

Halifax mayor, Mike Savage also put his city in the running.

Mayor Savage had support from other locally-based techies in Halifax. Others have also suggested Montreal as another option.  

Montreal Mayor, Denis Coderre echoed that thought on Wednesday and tweeted that Montreal would "certainly answer HQ2 RFP."

Mayor John Tory was on board for making Toronto home to the new HQ2.

He even received a letter from Bikram Bar, a self-professed "Torontonian interested in the growth of the technology sector in Canada."

In his letter, he predicts an economic benefit of $35 to 100 billion.

Ottawa mayor, Jim Watson thinks it would be perfect in his city. However, there are more than 20 other cities across the U.S. that are also in the running for HQ2, based on interest, city size and other requirements met.

Each city leader has until October 19th to send in their application.
