  • Heavy snowfall expected tonight for Southern Interior highway passes

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Southern Interior's highway mountain passes.

A total of 15 centimetres is expected as a low pressure system brings a band of heavy snow to Southern B.C.

"Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult," said Environment Canada in a release. "Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow."

RCMP ask motorists to slow down, adjust their speeds to the changing road and weather conditions, increase their following distance, give themselves plenty of time to get to their destination or delay their travel until conditions improve.
