  • Disney plans to pull content from Netflix to start independent streaming service

    Disney announced on Tuesday, August 8th, that they plan on starting a Disney branded streaming service in 2019.

    As a result, Disney will end their distribution agreement with Netflix for subscription screening of new releases.

    The streaming service will become the “exclusive home” in the U.S. for subscription-video-on-demand viewing of the newest live action and animated movies from Disney and Pixar.

    The 2019 theatrical slate will include Toy Story 4, the sequel to Frozen, and The Lion King from Disney live-action, along with other highly anticipated movies.
