The annual Craft Culture Spring Market is back and in full swing at the Kelowna Curling Club both today and Sunday.
The semi-annual event is known valley-wide as a beacon for incredible B.C.-based artists of all kinds, unique shopping experiences and for supporting small business.

From culinary creations and valley-brewed beverages to handmade body care, clothing, jewelry, decor and more — Craft Culture has something for everyone.
“We always like to have a wide variety,” said event producer Karalyn Lockhart.

Though most of the talent showcased is rooted right here in B.C., some vendors make the trek from Alberta and Saskatchewan to be a part of it all.
“We love to bring back our local favourites, as well as always reaching out to new vendors to bring them to the Okanagan,” Lockhart added.

As one of the biggest names in the event sphere of the Okanagan, Craft Culture grows in attendance each year, allowing the event to blossom and adapt to suit consumers' needs.
“This year we widened the aisles to make it easier to move around which is nice, and we increased the number of vendors to 115,” said Lockhart.

“It has been really good – we’ve had a steady flow of attendance today, lots of happy customers, happy vendors. Kelowna is very supportive of local businesses and that shows.”
One vendor has attended Craft Culture events for the last five years and enjoys the opportunity to get out of her home hub of Penticton.

“It’s a good vibe, and it’s nice to get out of the home base and into a different demographic out here,” said Carla Obee of Carla Obee Studio.
An artist out of the South Okanagan, Obee creates handmade jewelry out of bronze and copper in addition to painting.

“It is always a great time – Karalyn does a really great job running the event and there are always people and good vendors,” added Obee.
In addition to the plethora of vendors to enjoy, attendees can sip and sample local wines, grab a bite to eat from the concession and take their little ones to enjoy the kids' zone.

The Spring Market carries on until 5 p.m. tonight and will return from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
