On Friday morning, 25 riders and six RCMP support people departed on the 16th annual Cops for Kids Ride.

An event that has aided in the support of children in our community dealing with medical, physical or traumatic crisis, Cops for Kids has lent a hand to many over the years, raising over $4 million since 2001.

During their ten day journey, riders will cover almost 1,000 km across the RCMP’s Southeast District, having the opportunity to meet some of the families they are supporting along the way.

Each rider had to raise a minimum of $2,000 on top of training for their adventure on their own time.

All of the funds raised stay within our own community to help those close to home.
