Kelowna will be welcoming another cannabis shop to the community this morning. 

Chris Gayford of Cheeba Cheebas Premium Cannabis and Mary Jane Headquarters told NowMedia that they have finally navigated their way through the lengthy approval process and now officially have their business license.

Cheeba Cheebas, owned and operated by Chris and Jackie Gayford, was the successful candidate in an application lottery that the City of Kelowna held. 

Chris originally secured the lease for the shop when the federal government announced that cannabis would be legalized, and two years later is feeling the excitement of opening the new business. 

After getting through both the city approval process and the provincial process, the final inspection was done today. 

"I am now allowed to sell weed – isn't that crazy?" Chris said.

Located at 140 Rutland Road South, the shop will sell a variety of cannabis products, from dried flower, pre-rolled joints – both half gram and full gram, CBD products and more.

"I wanted to make sure I had some locally grown premium cannabis – as everyone knows, BC bud is very high quality. But, I also wanted to make sure that I had something for everybody's budget as well, so we do have some price competitive cannabis for sale."

And, they’ll soon have 2.0 products (edibles, concentrates, and vape products), as they became available on the market this week.

A grand opening celebration will be held once the West Kelowna locations is ready and they have the 2.0 products in stock, which they hope will be in the first week of January. 

Cheeba Cheebas is open from 9 am to 11 pm, seven days a week with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
