The Stewart family requests your presence at the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Quails’ Gate Winery on Friday, November 22, 2019.
This grand gala will be complemented with dining experiences curated by Chef Roger Sleiman, live music featuring popular singer-songwriter, Andrew Allen, strolling entertainment, new and vintage wines and the unveiling of the newest member of their wine family, the Collector Series Clone 220 Chenin Blanc.
In preparation for this momentous occasion, we thought we’d take a look back at the milestones Quails’ Gate Winery has had since the purchase of a family farm in 1956.
The History of Quails’ Gate Winery
1956 – Dick Stewart purchases land near Westbank in Kelowna, British Columbia
“I looked around and settled on this site here with the idea of planting grapes,” said Dick Stewart, Founder of Quails’ Gate Winery.
1961– The first vinifera grapes are planted
“We grew apples, cherries, peaches and many other tree fruit, but at the time we thought we were on the cusp of doing great things in the wine industry.”
1989 – The Stewart family produces its first Pinot Noir vintage and Quails’ Gate Winery is born
“With our commitment to the land and wine, we wanted to be leaders in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.”
1999 – Old Vines Restaurant patio opens for onsite dining
“We started with the wine and find a meal to match your experience.”
2019 – Quails’ Gate celebrates their 30-year milestone — culminating in a 30th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, November 22, 2019
“We are thrilled to showcase the best of Quails’ Gate’s culinary, viticulture and winemaking history – and throw one exciting party – to celebrate our milestone year,” said Tony Stewart, CEO and proprietor of Quails’ Gate Winery. “I would like to extend a personal invitation to friends, family and wine lovers to join us at this exciting event.”
In 1956, Dick Stewart began a family legacy in Okanagan wine.
Devoting 33 years of research to establish quality, this built the culture that launched Quails’ Gate Winery in 1989. Now, another 30 years later, everyone behind Quails’ Gate Winery invites you to celebrate this milestone with them.

This time, for this particular toast, the Stewart family asks that you share the 30th Anniversary Celebration with them on Friday, November 22nd.
