With an all-star roster of theatre artists, they've recorded a new benefit single of “What the World Needs Now is Love.”

More than 50 artists — including Sara Bareilles, Carole King, Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Sarah Jessica Parker — gathered June 15 to record the single.

According to the Broadway Records website, the song was created to honour victims and survivors of the Orlando shooting at Pulse nightclub on June 12 and help the community going forward.

With a digital download available online, 100 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit the LGBT Community Center of Central Florida.
