Anyone heading east to the Kootenays will want to avoid using Hwy 3 to do so this evening.
DriveBC is reporting that a vehicle incident has closed both lanes of the highway rough 19 km east of Christina Lake.
As of 5:30 pm, no detour was available, however, an update is expected before 7 pm.
Highway 3 is one of several BC Interior highways included in a winter weather statement from Environment Canada.
The Coquihalla Highway, Okanagan Connector, Hwy 3 and the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass are all expected to see up to 25 cm of snow by Friday night.
