UPDATE: Wildfire north of Kamloops under control

(UPDATE: May 2 @ 9 p.m.) – A small wildfire north of Kamloops that sparked on Friday evening is now considered under control by BC Wildfire Service.

It is the only listed wildfire in the Kamloops Fire Region.

(Original Story: May 2 @ 8 a.m.) – The BC Wildfire Service was called into action on Friday when a small fire ignited north of Kamloops.

According to the service, a 2.1- hectare blaze popped up north of Kamloops at Tournament Capital Ranch.

The fire was classified as "human-caused" and is still considered "new" for its stage of control.
