Prince George Fire Rescue was in action this morning, fighting a structure fire on at 207 Gordon Crescent.
According to PGFR, three halls were dispatched to the area shortly after 5:15 am. The initial responding apparatus determined that the fire was in the basement of the home, and they were able to make a quick entry into the residence.
The fire was contained to the basement, but heat and smoke damage were felt throughout the home. Currently, an investigation into what caused the fire is underway.
Residents were in the building when the blaze sparked. All of them were able to get out and were only treated for minor smoke inhalation. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate the two family dogs but were unsuccessful in both cases.
