Aurora Cannabis Inc. has announced yet another massive deal for Canada’s cannabis industry.
The Edmonton based cannabis company finalized the largest deal in Canadian cannabis history in May, acquiring medical marijuana company MedReleaf in a deal valued at C$3.2 billion.
On Tuesday, Aurora Cannabis announced that the company signed a loan deal with the Bank of Montreal for up to $250 million.

Under the agreement, Aurora will receive a $150-million term loan and a $50-million revolving credit facility, both of which will mature in 2021.
Aurora can also request an increase of up to $45 million more to the term loan, following the federal government’s legalization legislation that comes into effect this October.
"This is by far the largest traditional debt facility in the cannabis industry to date," said Terry Booth, CEO.
"The funds provide us additional fuel to complement our end-to-end portfolio of vertically integrated, geographically and horizontally diversified assets, aimed at building a pre-eminent global cannabis company with a superior margin profile."
Despite the news, the company's stock fell on the TSX ticker as trading closed for the day.
