  • Annual City of Kelowna Free Family Skate Day takes place this afternoon

There is nothing quite like spending quality time with loved ones during this time of year, and what better activity to join in on than ice skating?

As per tradition, the City of Kelowna is hosting a free family skate day at the Rutland Arena this afternoon from 1:15 pm until 3:30 pm.

The fun and festive event will not only include some ice time, but you can also look forward to creating more Christmas memories through crafts, face-painting and plenty of photo ops.

In addition, attendees can also warm up with some delicious hot cocoa and even expect a very special visit from the man in red!

Skate rentals are available, however, make sure to bring your own helmet.

While the event is free, donations are being encouraged and graciously accepted on behalf of the Central Okanagan Food Bank.

The arena is located at 645 Dodd Road.
