  • Fire at Prince George home results in $350K in damage

Prince George Fire Rescue responded quickly when dealing with a structure engulfed in flames in the city on Saturday.

According to PGFR, three halls made their way to the 3900 block of Brentwood Court for a confirmed structure fire just after 4 pm. First arriving crews rescued a resident from heavy smoke and flame that was coming from the front and side of the structure.

Crews started out doing an interior attack but switched to a defensive attack when the blaze became unsafe. The fire became unsafe when it burned through the interior floor of the building.

After several hours, crews were able to extinguish the fire and douse several hot spots. There were no injuries to firefighters during the incident.

At this point, the fire is still under investigation. Damage to the structure is estimated at $350,000.
