Forecasters are calling upcoming highs in the province abnormal and expect weather records to once again fall this week.

According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to reach the high 20's over the next three days. In Kelowna, the forecast is calling for a high of 27 C on Monday, 29 C on Tuesday, and 28 C on Wednesday.

A record will most likely be broken on Monday as the previous record, which was set in 1900 was 22.2 C. On Tuesday the record is again expected to fall with a previous high of 23.8 C, which was set in 1994. Kelowna will flirt with record setting temperatures for Wednesday as the record high for this day is 26.7 C, a record set in 1942.

While hot weather is expected during the daytime, overnight temperatures will dip to the single digits for Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will ease as the rest of the week continues with a chance of showers in the forecast by the weekend.
