There’s a new scam going around and it has to do with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and emails.
People around Canada are receiving emails saying that there’s a money transfer from the CRA.

The CRA will never send an INTERAC e-Transfer and money from the agency will only come through direct deposit or by cheque.
Within the e-Transfer there’s a link, which leads to a website that looks legitimate. The website then prompts individuals to enter personal information, which could be used in a malicious way.
No one should enter any personal information in, and people are urged to delete the email right away and call the CRA to report the scam.
The CRA will never ask for personal information of any kind from a taxpayer through email and will not leave any personal information on an answering machine.
