Below are some commonly asked questions we get asked by people trying to nominate and vote.
Why do I need to register to nominate or vote?
To keep things fair and prevent any fraudulent votes, we ask that all users create an account using their email or Facebook to help us ensure that only real nominations and votes are counted.
How many times can I nominate or vote for a business?
You get one nomination and/or vote per category, per person, so make it count!
Do I have to fill in the nomination form at one time?
No, you can save your progress and log back into your account later to continue your nominations. Please note that you can only nominate a business once in a specific category. This means that you cannot nominate two different businesses in the same category, nor can you nominate the same business more than once in that category. Nominations close Friday, April 14 at 3 pm.
Do I have to vote in each category at one time?
No, you can vote for a few and come back another day to do some more. Just remember that voting closes Friday, May 12 at 3 pm.
I'm looking for a specific category but I can't find it on the site, what can I do?

Can I change my nomination or vote once I have submitted it?
Sure, if you change your mind about a nomination, you can easily update it. Just log back into the site and go to the category where you want to make the change. From there, you can edit your nomination and submit the updated information.
How does a business advance to the voting round?
Each person or business needs at least 5 nominations to qualify, and the top 10 businesses with the most nominations will advance to the voting round.
*Please note, more than 10 businesses may show in a category during the voting round if there were ties in the nomination round and less than 10 businesses may show in a category if there aren't 10 businesses within that field or did not gain the minimum 5 nominations to qualify.
How are the votes counted and who decides the winner?
Our system counts the votes as they come in and the business or person with the most votes wins first, second, or third place. In the event of a tie, multiple businesses may share a placement
Can I see my number of votes as they come in?
No, the winners will be announced in July, so stay tuned and follow us on social media or check our website for updates.
What happens if there is a tie in the voting?
In the event of a tie, the businesses or people who have tied will share the placement.
What is the deadline for the nomination round?
Nominations close Friday, April 14 at 3 pm.
What is the deadline for the voting round?
Voting closes Friday, May 12 at 3 pm.

How do I register my Business?
To register your business please go to the Members Page and create an account. You will need to verify your email account after creation.
If your listing already exists and you have added yourself as a manager to the profile we will verify the details within 24-72 hours via email or phone call. If you use your company email address that matches your website's domain we can approve your account faster. Find out more here.
I updated my business profile but I can't see the changes yet.
Our website is cached so the change you make can take up to an hour to take effect. If your profile hasn't changed after 24 hours please contact us at bestofkamloops@nowmediagroup.ca.
I registered my business but I don't see it on the site.
If you registered your business within the last 48 hours, it may still be in the Approval Queue
I haven't received my account verification email or any emails from Best of regarding nominations.
Please check your spam folder and that your email was spelled correctly. Add the email address notifications@bestof.kamloopsbcnow.com to your contacts to prevent the email from being filtered out of your inbox.
