    You can enjoy this free lantern festival in Sidney this August

    Later this month you can enjoy a whimsical lantern festival by the sea in Sidney.

    On Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, there will be outdoor events at the Bandshell, Beacon Park. 

    ArtSea Community Arts Council

    Starting at 6:30 pm, there will be on-stage entertainment, lantern installations, costumed characters and more. 

    At dusk, about 8:45 pm, the lanterns will light up the night with the Lighted Lantern Procession.

    You’re invited to bring your own lanterns, or just come and watch.

    A Jellyfish Lantern installation was recently put up at the Garden Court on Beacon Avenue in advance of the festival. 

    The ArtSea Community Arts Council is also hosting some workshops where you can create a lantern of your own, or you can follow one of their online tutorials at home.
