(UPDATE: Sept. 6th @ 9:28 a.m.) – The Greyback Mountain wildfire is now being held. Fire information officer for the BC Wildfire Service, Justine Hunse, says that the fire is now 100% contained and remains at 35 hectares.
The fire is now wrapped in machine guard and is not likely to spread past it's established perimeter. There are currently six firefighters, three support staff, and two water tenders continuing with mop up activities today.
(UPDATE: Sept. 5th @ 3:25 p.m.) – The BC Wildfire Service reports that the Greyback Mountain wildfire remains unchanged since this morning.
The fire remains at rank one as crews are continuing with mop up activities today.
(UPDATE: Sept. 5th @ 11 a.m.) – The BC Wildfire Service continues to respond to the wildfire burning near Greyback Mountain.
It is now being estimated at 35 hectares, but fire information officer Justine Hunse says that the fire activity has decreased since yesterday.
On Monday, September 4th, the fire activity was considered a rank three. Today it has decreased to a rank one, meaning it is a smouldering ground fire with some open flame.
There are currently 27 firefighters, four support staff, and two water tenders on the scene. Aircraft will be assigned if needed.
(UPDATE: Sept. 4th @ 3:26 p.m.) – The BC Wildfire Service is reporting that the Greyback Mountain fire is now estimated at 30 hectares in size, with no containment.
There are currently 17 firefighters, one helicopter, and air tankers at the scene. Additional personnel will be sent if needed.
The fire is not currently threatening any structures.

BC Wildfire Service has confirmed that they are responding to a wildfire near Greyback Mountain, approximately 28 kilometres southeast of Kelowna.
It is currently estimated at 20 hectares in size and is burning out of control.
Our crews & BC Wildfire Service are on site at a small wildfire burning by Canyon Lakes (NE of Little White, 19km from Kelowna boundary).

BC Wildfire says that there is quite a bit of open flame and fire activity is aggressive.
There are currently 4 firefighters and air tankers responding.
