We spoke with Richard and Pamela Luehr, a couple who recently bought a home at Mission Group's ELLA development in downtown Kelowna, to see why they decided to make the move.
“Now that our children have left the nest, we decided it was time to downsize,” said Mr. Luehr. “We were intrigued by the diversity and changes happening in the downtown Kelowna area and decided to start looking for our retirement forever home.”

For the Luehrs, the benefits of moving downtown include the many nearby amenities and the ability to go car-free. Living somewhere so central will be a big change for them after living up at Quail Ridge for the past several years, and it’s one that they’re excited for.
“The walkability score of ELLA says it all,” said Mr. Luehr. “We can walk to our boat at the Yacht Club, dine at all the great restaurants and Pamela works at the Interior Health Centre, making this an amazing choice for us.”
