Winnipeg had to wait a very long time to see their Jets win a playoff game.
The city waited even longer to see their hockey team win a playoff series.

However, the success is really starting to come in waves now for the Prairie's only NHL team.
The Jets' won a rollercoaster of a series in Game 7 against the Nashville Predators, now the squad is heading to the Eastern Conference finals against the upstart Las Vegas Knights.

While the game was played in Nashville, Jets' fans packed their home arena to watch their team play on giant tv screens and now WestJet is betting fans will fly to Vegas to take watch a game.

"WestJet is making a call to hockey fans across Manitoba to board its jets headed to Las Vegas, Nevada," announced the company in a release.
"We look forward to flying the spirit of Canadian hockey to Las Vegas and welcoming fans on board our jets for a convenient nonstop flight."
The airline will add two special nonstop flights between Winnipeg and Las Vegas and become the only airline featuring non-stop service from Winnipeg to the McCarran International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas.
Winnipeg will face off for game one against the Las Vegas Knights on Saturday,
