West Kelowna RCMP are hoping the public can help them identify a man who’s believed to be responsible for obtaining thousands of dollars from cash loan businesses in the Central Okanagan.

Police have learned that in late December 2018 and early January 2019, the suspect allegedly provided false names and produced stolen personal identification to obtain cash loans.

The loans came from more than one financial lending business in the Central Okanagan and he made off with around $10,000.

He’s been described to police as a Caucasian man in his 30s with a slender build and trimmed facial hair.

He often wears a black baseball hat with white lettering.

“In an effort to further our ongoing investigations, police are releasing an image taken by employees of the fraud suspect,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“Our hope is not only to positively identify the suspect, but to also prevent further businesses from being victimized by his tactics.”
