  • West Kelowna native rejoins Warriors after 1 season in the USHL

    Jake Harrison is returning home.

The defenceman, who was apart of the West Kelowna Warriors’ RBC Cup winning team back in 2016, will return to the team for the 2019-20 season.

He spent last season with the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League, registering two goals and eight assists in 49 games.

“We are very excited to have Jake back in West Kelowna for next season,” said Brandon West, the Warriors’ head coach and GM.

“Jake is a leader who has a wealth of experience in our league and our program. Jake has always been a fan favourite and everyone will be excited to see him back on Royal LePage Place ice.”

The West Kelowna native said he chose to join the Force to get the experience of moving away from home for the first time.

“It pushed me to mature and grow as a person,” he said. “The Fargo Force coaching staff played a big part of improving my defensive game and further my skating abilities.”

However, he said there’s no greater feeling than playing for your hometown team and said he’s excited for the opportunity to close out his junior career with the Warriors.
