  • Weekend need to KNow!: Oct.5 to Oct.8

    Each weekend we'll compile a list of five or more things you need to know about. Whether it's community events, treats you have to try, killer sales or where to find some dance-worthy live music, we've got you covered on activities you need to KNow to make the most of your weekend.

    Okanagan Marathon

    The BMO Okanagan Marathon returns this weekend for its 24th year. To celebrate the milestone the event will not only host various races but a family festival equipped with inflatables, face-painting and more.

    The fun kicks off on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and carries on until 2 p.m. with the marathon scheduled for bright and early Sunday morning. All the action takes place at City Park, so pop by to check it out and cheer on the athletes.

    Kids Music Day at Wentworth Music

    From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wentworth Music is hosting a free event for families. If you’ve got little ones who are always headbanging or have shown a keen interest in instruments, head over to the music school to let their minds and hands explore!

    Under the supervision and guidance of Wentworth teachers, attendees will have the chance to try out a variety of instruments from drums and guitar to synth and much more! The best part? It isn’t just for kids, if your curiosity is peaking adults are welcome to try as well.

    Kelowna Worldwide Photowalk

    If you’ve caught the shutterbug this event is a great excuse to snap some shots at iconic Kelowna locations alongside other photography lovers and professionals.

    Kicking off at 10 a.m. starting at the Dolphins, the event will lead you on an adventure along the waterfront, to the sails before hitting up Kasugai Gardens and many other great spots. All levels of photographers are welcome, along with any type of gear from DSLR’s to iPhones!

    Oktoberfest at Tree Brewing

    This Saturday, starting at 11 a.m., Tree Brewing will be hosting their third annual Oktoberfest event.

    With games, German-inspired food, and of course, beer, this event is a great way to enjoy part of your long weekend and show off Kelowna to your visiting friends or family.

    Giving Thanks East Kelowna Community Market

    If you feel like skipping out on helping with dinner prep, pay a visit to the weekly East Kelowna Community Market at East Kelowna Hall.

    Packed with new vendors each week, the event boasts beautiful artisan creations, fresh produce, tasty treats and much more, all the while supporting local! The market carries on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and acts as a great spot to pick up a last-minute pie or side dish.\

    McMillan Farms

    What better way to spend a holiday Monday than at the pumpkin patch? After a busy opening weekend, McMillan Farms is back for the season and have brought with them a host of fall-themed fun from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
