  • Weekend Need to KNow!: Jan. 24 to 26, 2020

    From charity runs and sports games, to craft markets and the biggest community events in the city, it is hard to be bored while being in Kelowna.

    If you’re looking for a way to make the most of your weekend, we are here to tell you about the notable events and activities coming to town. 

    Here is your Weekend Need to KNow!

    Rockets Vs Thunderbirds

    Get those noisemakers and jersey’s out because our boys return to Prospera Place this weekend!

    Cheer on the Rockets as they face-off against the Seattle Thunderbirds and hopefully come back from a string of losses. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm.

    Icewine Festival at Grizzli Winery

    Get your wine-tour fix this weekend while enjoying one of Canada’s best-kept treasures, Ice wine!

    Grizzli Winery is hosting its ice wine festival this weekend and attendees can enjoy sipping this sweet creation, food pairings, a romantic outdoor fire and more. 

    The event runs from noon until 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, click here for tickets. 

    Burgers for Elara

    Central Kitchen and Bar is stepping up to raise funds for a Kelowna toddler currently battling cancer in Vancouver.

    To help support Elara and her family, the local hotspot is donating 100% of the fund from each of the “Elara Sweet & Spicy” burgers to the cause, as well as giving diners the opportunity to go above and beyond by participating in a silent auction!

    The main event takes place this Saturday evening starting at 5 pm. 

    Free Youth Night at the Parkinson Rec Centre

    Children in grades 6 to 9 will have the chance to socialize, swim and participate in a number of activities this Saturday night at the Parkinson Rec Centre.

    The free to attend event will feature everything from zorb soccer to an inflatable obstacle course from 8 pm until 10 pm. 

    Student ID is required and all must arrive before 8:30 pm. 

    Australia Day at Big White

    One of the most popular days of the year at Big White is on the horizon.

    Sunday is Australia Day and, as always, it’ll be celebrated with plenty of festivities on the mountain. 

    From the Kangaroo run and group photo to a sausage sizzle in the woods there is so much to do at the resort to celebrate! Be sure to arrive well before 11 am.

    Bison(stoner metal) with Cloaker (emo) and Storm the Empire (hard rock) at Muninn’s Post – 8 pm
