This is some breaking news!

  • Warped Tour will be no more

Cue the emo kid playlist you made back in the early 2000's, this harsh news calls for a melancholy soundtrack.

Early Wednesday afternoon it was announced that following the 2018 tour, the longest-running touring music festival in North America, Warped Tour, will be no more.

In a statement released on the popular punk tour’s website, founder Kevin Lyman had some heartfelt words to say.

“Today, with many mixed feelings, I am here to announce that next year will be the final, full cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour.” said Lyman

The tour will embark on its final cross-country trip throughout the United States on June 21st in Pomona, California and finish off on August 5th in West Palm Beach, Florida. It will also be making one Canadian stop in Toronto on July 17th.

“Though the tour and the world have changed since ’95, the same feeling of having the ‘best summer ever’ will live on through the bands, the production teams, and the fans that come through at every stop.” added Lyman

Having been the starting place for some of the biggest bands in the genre like Sum 41, Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, and Simple Plan, Warped Tour has been boosting careers and fulfilling music fans needs since 1995.

Lyman alludes to the Warped brand hosting a final showcase in 2019 to celebrate it’s 25th anniversary, though details have not been released as of yet.

“The enduring spirit of the Vans Warped Tour remains as bright as ever, continuing to inspire creativity and ambition in new and exciting ways as we prepare for a 25th-anniversary celebration in 2019.”
