  • VIDEO: City continues to buy-up pricey lakefront property

    Lakefront property in Kelowna is extremely expensive.   

    But the city's real estate department continues to snap up beach lots despite the high cost.

    This past week, the City took ownership of a residential lot on Hobson Road for $4.4M.

    The people of Kelowna will get access to the waterfront right next to the Central Okanagan Sailing Association.

    City of Kelowna Real Estate Services Manager Johannes Staufferer stopped by KelownaNow to talk about the parkland question. 

    Staufferer said we should expect more. Approximately 300 acres of new parkland will likely be acquired over the next 20 years to keep up with the increasing population.
