VIDEO: Balloon makes airport landing

A hot air balloon made an unscheduled landing at the Kelowna Airport today.

Airport spokesperson Jody Foster told KelownaNow that the balloon's presence in airport airspace was not planned, but the operator followed all regulations after a change in wind patterns created the unexpected arrival.

The spectacle was caught on video by none-other than Kelowna City Councillor Ryan Donn, who posted it on his Facebook Page.

According to Foster, the balloon operator was in full communication with the airport during the event. Balloons are regulated as aircraft in the same way that planes are.
