  • Victoria police seek witnesses after early morning collision

    Victoria police are seeking witnesses after an early morning collision.

    Several charges are currently being recommended.

    Earlier this morning, officers observed a vehicle run a red light at View and Douglas Street.

    According to police, the vehicle then fled from police and eventually collided with another vehicle.

    The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

    The man was located a short distance away after trying to hide two large boxes of marijuana.

    Investigators have determined that the marijuana was destined for a cannabis storefront.

    Police are recommending charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.

    Investigators are looking for any witnesses that may have been at the 700-block of Yates Street this morning between 8:40 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. who observed a newer style grey BMW driving the wrong way down Yates between Douglas and Blanshard streets.
