UPDATE: BC Hwy 5 reopen to single lane alternating traffic near Blue River

(Update – 3:45 pm): BC Hwy 5 has reopened to single lane alternating traffic near Blue River.

Drivers should expect delays and congestion.

(Original – 3:25 pm): Residents using BC Hwy 5 should be aware of a closure near Blue River.

According to Drive BC, a vehicle incident nine kilometres north of the community has closed the road in both directions.

An assessment is currently in progress but there is no estimated time of reopening. No detours are available so residents should expect heavy delays and congestion.
